Together with the hotel, we designed and planned to build this Dragon since May 2011 and the design of the Dragon was based on Feng Shui set up with Chinese culture. I would like to share with you how we can set up the Dragon to bring good luck for everyone visiting the Dragon.

2012 is the Year of Yang Water Dragon, so we recommend for all visitors to walk around the Dragon three times for blessing, the first round you will receive blessings from Heaven, the second from earth energy and the third round will bring mankind luck.
The Dragon and Rooster are secret friends, so together they bring harmony. This also means the Rooster person will have strong wealth luck with lots of lucky stars around their planet this year. The West sector is also very lucky in 2012, and so we placed a 3ft tall Rooster at the West sector of the Atrium Garden where the Dragon is displayed. The Rooster stands facing the Dragon. If you remember the past post, I recommended for us to place a Rooster facing the Dragon for better good fortune luck.
This Dragon has a big belly so it can carry lots of auspicious luck to everyone. The 5 claws of the Dragon represents power. In ancient China, only the Emperor is allowed to use the 5 clawed Dragon on his clothes and all his belongings. We also inserted powerful mantras inside the head and tail of this Dragon, to make sure that the Dragon is protected during the exhibition. The color of this Dragon is red and royal yellow, as we need Fire energy this year and royal yellow represents the color of e Emperor.
The Dragon is sitting on the water flying to the heavens. This was designed because the Water Dragon is in charge of natural disasters related to water such as tsunami, heavy rain, heavy snow and water flooding. We placed a large pot of crystals in front of the Dragon, as earth is the wealth element in 2012 and the Dragon will breath smoke and fire to produce wealth luck for everybody. For better wealth luck, the Dragon also brings nine gold coins.
If you have any major project, you should make sure to choose an auspicious date and hour for installation; this will help remove obstacles. The Palazzo Hotel needs to take down some walls to move this Dragon into the Atrium Garden.
On the first day of Chinese New Year, we chose an auspicious hour to begin the Dragon and Lion dance with firecrackers from the main entrance of Venetian Hotel passing through to the casino and onto the Atrium Garden. The Dragon and Lion dance circled the Water Dragon three times for blessing. Before the Dragon dance started, Mr. Sheldon Adelson - Chairman of Sands Hotels and his wife Dr Miriam Adelson performed the eye-painting ceremony for the dance. It is always very auspicious for everyone to invite a lion dance to bring good energy for the coming New Year and to get rid of any bad energy lingering from the previous year.
What is the eye-painting ceremony for the Lion or Dragon Dance? Well, this is usually performed by the host or your VIP guest, who paints cinnabar mixed with white wine on the eyes of the lion or dragon, then dots the forehead of the Lion or Dragon. The meaning is to wake up the Lion or Dragon. Celine Dion performed the eye painting ceremony during Chinese New Year at Caesars Palace Hotel in Las Vegas. You can view it on YouTube. We only have one school performing Lion and Dragon dances in Las Vegas; Sifu Steve follows Tibetan Buddha practice and he likes to blow a conch shell before the dance. The conch shell is one of the eight auspicious instruments in Tibetan Buddhism.

Please try to visit the Tao temple to worship the Tai Sui of the year or visit the Zodiac of the Year (Snake in 2013) for blessings, this will also help remove your obstacles during the year, especially for persons born in the year of the Dog and Dragon.
