Feng Shui Jewelery

Nothing accents the woman of substance the way a perfect piece of jewellery can. We look at three charismatic ladies, each successful in her world and all sharing the absolute conviction that wearing jewellery does not just lift them to a higher level of grooming but that wearing meaningful and auspicious jewellery just adds so much more!

Why not add the lucky touch they reckon... let me introduce you to Ong Li Dong, corporate career lady, to Datin Annie, charitable fund raiser and to Elsie Chua, successful property developer par excellence!

Feng Shui Jewelery

Ong Li Dong - Luxury Jeweler

Terrifyingly efficient, awfully down-to-earth, and wonderfully capable, Ong Li Dong is the General Manager of OE Jewellery, a 100-year old German company which designs, manufactures and markets its fine jewellery to Europe and the rest of the world with a factory-base in this part of the world in Penang. In an industry dominated mostly by men, Li Dong holds a dream job.

As GM in charge of export and the Asia Pacific market, she is the only Malaysia woman to hold such a post in a major European jewellery manufacturing firm. Twelve years ago, she struck a deal to create a line of auspicious jewellery after being mesmerized by the idea at a Feng Shui seminar on feng shui.

Says Li Dong, "crafting fine jewellery inspired by classic Chinese symbols, each representing wonderful meanings of good fortune, health and happiness... wow, a great story waiting to be told... l thought! What I saw was a perfect collaboration when I suggested that OE and Feng Shui should work hand-in-hand to create meaningful symbols using precious gems and gold, to cater to a different market.

Over the years, the alliance has grown and expanded, and today our clients have become convinced that there is indeed added potency to their good fortune each time they wear their feng shui jewellery."

Elsie Chua - Investment Group Chairman & Property Developer

Elsie Chua is the Executive Chairman of Plentitude Berhad, an investment holding company that has
17-wholly owned subsidiaries within the Group. Their core business is property development, but Plenitude Berhad also owns and runs a beach hotel, Tanjung Bunga Beach Hotel in Penang.

Tough as nails with nerves of steel, this charismatic lady oversees the entire operations of the Group and is responsible for both the formulation and implementation of all the company's policies and strategies. On wearing jewellery, Elsie says, "Good jewellery achieves two things; it adds a feminine accent to the hard lines of corporate powersuits... but jewellery can also add power and authority to the wearer and in this role, jewellery can intimidate in the nicest, most indirect way."

On luck, she says, "Never underestimate the importance of luck. You may be clever, strategic, smart... but success comes when you have all that plus a little bit of good luck on your side."

Datin Annie Chin - Women's Rights Philanthropist

This very lovely lady epitomizes the ideal humanitarian, using her position in high society to champion women's fights. She does not just talk about it, she is hands-on and directly involved, actively fundraising for the Women's Center for Change in Penang, which helps women and children facing crisis irrespective of race, religion or social
background.

"You might not be able to help everyone," says Datin Annie, "but even if you can help just one person, it is worth it." She helps not just one, but many, and her work serves as an incredible inspiration to others, and sends a much greater and far-reaching message than even she herself realizes. She believes that women should learn to love themselves for who they are, not just as supporting roles in society. "Gender equality is important. And I am helping these women gain this self respect that everyone deserves." To find out more, you can check out Feng Shui Jewelery.
