There are few things that we can do that is as uplifting as when we spend time building up our precious record of tender memories. Yes I am talking about the beautiful pictures we take - the invention of the camera has made it so easy for everyone to keep lasting images of our moments of happiness, of triumphs and of loving.

Photo Album Timeline

It is just so worthwhile taking really good high-res, well composed pictures, and with the advent of the digital age, we can now click happily away knowing we can delete everything that is unflattering or which looks wonky! Viva la Japanese for bringing out so many tiny little cameras and now hurray for Steve Jobs and Apple whose iPhone does not just take amazingly good pictures (even in the twilight hours) but we can instantly store, send or resize and crop any way we want. This is yet another industry the great Steve Jobs revolutionized.

But this year do not stop at taking pictures or let them stay unwatched and ignored inside your computer or iPad or iPhone the minute you go back to your routine. Instead, pick out meaningful pictures and then arrange and caption them with loving care. Spend time arranging them into an album infusing them with love and tenderness. And as you do this, let yourself relive all the moments of happiness, joyousness and pride.

Moments you spend with loved ones - marriages, births, graduations, holidays are all too soon forgotten. Your kids grow up faster than you realize and it will seem like just an instant when your cute adorable baby has grown into a Iovely lady or an irresistible gentleman - the baby that was - gone forever!

So do arrange your best pictures into a special album, then tag them and caption them. Place colorful stickers.
Write meaningful words. Capture all your moments of achievement so that at any time, you can look at them again to give yourself a reassuring pat.

As the years pass, you will want to see yourself again and again, not because you are narcissistic - not at all. More because it is always lovely to relive the special times. Being reminded about the good days when you were young and fearless; reliving those halcyon days at College, of plenty of good friends and seeing your beautiful family growing and expanding - these are things that are sure to lift your spirits making you soar upwards.

It is of course excellent good feng shui to keep a well cataloged record of your life and your family. Do however observe these simple golden rules so that your photo albums will always cause your luck to grow and increase and never to falter ...
  • Select only pictures that make you look happy. Do not keep pictures of you or any member of your family looking sad, angry or scowling. Capture happiness moments because only these are worthwhile keeping. Images have power so empower yourself to a happy life!
  • Keep only pictures that flatter you, your figure, your make up, your clothes. Never display pictures that show any of you wearing torn jeans or capture you in an unflattering posture. Definitely do not keep anything that distorts you.
  • Try not to have pictures that cut you off in an unnatural way. Or where the composition or background looks strange. Nearby trees and buildings should also not be sending secret poison arrows towards your body. This will create negative chi energy.
  • Photo albums are best kept standing and not laid down flat with other books or objects pressing down on them. Keeping them upright is not just good for the pictures but also ensures that your images are not "pressed down."
  • Finally never keep photo albums in a place where people walk over them. For instance do not keep them under staircases or maybe stored in a box or under tables. Having someone step over your image or the images of your happy family bring you bad luck.
