GB Most Successful Olympics

A euphoria that was quite overpowering swept over the world's consciousness all through the London Games. From start to end, it was a spectacular showcase of British genius, creativity and effectiveness in providing the backdrop for the world's best to perform at their best!

The message came through loud and clear, declared by Sebastian Coe, the London Olympics Organizing Chairman, who managed the whole Show, and echoed by British Prime Minister David Cameron. It was 16 glorious days when even those hostile to one another suspended their differences to compete fairly and with sportsmanship, and so the applause has rung out across the globe.

Good things come in threes. This is the THIRD global-scale "hei si" (happiness occasion) put on by Britain! It started with the marriage of their beloved Prince William to Kate Middleton in April 2 years ago, and then came the Queens's Diamond Jubilee two months ago, and now the Olympic Games! Already famous for their expertise in plays and musicals, only Britain can put on three such outstanding shows with such splendor.

The organizers of the London Olympics did a tremendous job. Hosting the Olympic Games in a congested city like London was not easy.

Millions of Britons got into the spirit of the Games, turning out to support all the events and the shows, just as billions around the world did the same as they tuned in to watch on television. This has to herald the way events of this new century will unfold.

From a feng shui perspective, the Grand Opening and Closing ceremonies were definitely auspicious, putting focus on the River Thames, London's very own Water Dragon, and then ending with the Flying Phoenix even as the Olympic flame was slowly put out, to rise four years later in Rio De Janeiro.

The River Thames was strewn with thousands of excited viewers creating a massive flow of yang energy, waving and cheering as they welcomed the flotilla of 50 boats accompanying the royal barge Gloriana tasked with the job of ferrying the Olympic torch on the final leg of its 8000 mile journey. The sacred torch fire, which has come to represent the spirit of the Olympics for more than a century, was lit 69 days before Opening Day, and had passed through the hands of 8000 athlete torch bearers making its way to the Olympic Cauldron on the Tower Bridge!

Here we have the Water Dragon bringing the Pearl of Fire into London... what a Fantastic way to infuse Sheng Chi to the start of this very global occasion! That it made it safely was of course terribly lucky for the Games and for Great Britain, who won an impressive haul of 29 gold medals.

London also benefits very much from all those fireworks displays, creating bursts of new chi energy to dissipate in the skies. This great city has been rejuvenated for sure. It was incredibly clever of the organizers to have cleaned up the city and created tracks along its city roads and suburbs for cyclists, runners and athletes to distribute their spirit of determination and ambitions through the streets of London. Many of the pictures splashed across the world's press also saw big backdrops of the skyline of London. It will definitely be a very hard act to follow.

So inspiring was the collaborative effort by the people of Britain as thousands of all ages and social backgrounds joined in the fun. Even the Queen and her royal corgis got into the fun spirit of the games! The Queen's "skydiving from a helicopter" with James Bond must surely signal a very cool new direction for the British monarchy. There was also the magical Mary Poppins floating in from the heavens and Mr Bean playing "Chariots of Fire".

There was also the music of the Beatles and the rock band Queen at both the opening and closing ceremonies. These acts remind us of Britain's great pool of talent and their huge contribution to the world in film. music and art! Incredibly original and completely new - nothing ever done before by any Other host city of the Olympics!

The ceremonies were filled with auspicious good symbols; the most obvious must surely be the huge Oak tree that took centre stage on the stadium floor from the start of the show! The Oak tree is one of the most iconic images of Britain's grassy knolls and meadows, and in feng shui terms, it brings great GROWTH CHI, symbolizing the spirit of a Wishful filling Tree for ALL those who participated in this Olympic event. It delivered because whether the Games brought heartache or triumph, every participant of the Games will surely have created something truly precious and special in their hearts.

For those who are not aware, the mighty Oak tree is one of the six hardest trees in the world. Once they take root deep into the earth, they live very long and can survive through even the harshest winters and the most severe of storms. Many species of oak are prized for their hardness, and many remain evergreen through the four seasons. In Spring, the Oak tree flowers magnificently, bringing the message of hope and harvests.

Royal and Noble Crests (including the Crest of Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge) are usually decorated with the acorn, and there are many legends that speak of its magical powers in druidism and alchemy!

Magical stories were also a big feature of the opening ceremony... with Harry Potter's characters making an appearance, and thousands of children dancing away to the tunes of wonder and delight! For decades, British children's writers have fueled the imaginations of little ones around the world, with unforgettable tales of Enid Blyton, Tolkien and recently J.K. Rowling, who gave us Harry Potter!

Both ceremonies culminated in huge displays of fireworks and rings of fire burning away all obstacles that could tarnish the smoothness of the Olympics, now or in the future. It was the perfect way to begin and end the perfect games. To find out more, you can check out GB Most Successful Olympics.
