Tom Cruise Marriage Break Up

Relationships are never easy, especially when couples have to wade through a difficult year like this one, where the feng shui winds are not conducive to creating a calm and happy household.

In 2012 the Southwest and the Northwest are both afflicted, upsetting the luck profiles of the Matriarch and the Patriarch. Patriarchs all around the world are facing struggles with their career luck and many high-flying male CEOs and politicians have already lost their jobs thanks to the vicious number 7 attacking the Northwest.

But the men aren't the only ones in distress this year; in fact Matriarchs have also had to endure a strenuous ride. The number Three Star, whose nature can be summed up by the words "anger" and "chaos", brings turmoil wherever it lands and this year it's flown into the Southwest palace - generating quarrels, disagreements and court battles.

The most highly publicized marriage break up this year must surely be the sensationalized divorce between the Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise (Water Tiger) and Dawsons Creek's Katie Holmes (Earth Horse). This is the third marriage for Tom and the first for Katie. Six years ago when both took to a shot-gun wedding after a whirlwind romance, the world was split between those who thought theirs was a fairy-tale come true and those who wrote their marriage off at once! I guess I fell into the latter camp, watching with part disgust and part amusement the older Tom Cruise declare his new found love for the very young Katie Holmes, jumping up and down Oprah Winfrey's couch. But whichever camp you belonged to, it is now irrelevant; Katie filed for divorce in June and Tom gave in without a fight.

It's very sad, watching news unfold on how the two are at great pains to secure the well-being of their darling daughter... Still we can't deny that this marriage brought no luck to either of them at all. Katie was a radiant vision of happiness and charm when she first met Tom, already a rising star by the age of 27, but her career took a sky-dive almost immediately after marrying in 2005. Tom's career also suffered a setback after their marriage; Paramount pictures very publicly fired him shortly after their wedding, ending a 14-year partnership between the actor/producer and the studio. So what went so horribly wrong?

On the surface the two seemed astrologically compatible - the Tiger and the Horse are after all horoscope allies! But dig a little deeper - and we discover that their $35 million dollar T-shaped mansion screams of missing corners! Perhaps their Palace of Marriage isn't just afflicted, but missing altogether?

Also, it is interesting to note that these two animal signs belong to the Zodiac of Independents. By nature each needs their space; neither can thrive when caged up or kept on a short leash. If one tries to control the other, it becomes a deal breaker. Rumors abound of Tom's obsessive and controlling behavior towards Katie, choosing for her what acting roles she could take and not take, and she's been struggling to get back into the Hollywood limelight ever since. There is also the looming dark cloud of the different religions that both ascribe. She a Catholic, he a Scientologist and their innocent little Suri caught in between.

The number of espionage tactics Katie had to employ in order to dodge black-vanned Scientology spies in her quest for divorce was pretty telling of the kind of life they led together. But when you analyze their elements, it was KATIE who had the upper hand all along. Her heavenly stem is EARTH and his heavenly stem is WATER... in this pairing it is Earth that controls Water.

Furthermore, Tom the Tiger is intrinsically a WOOD element, and Katie the Horse is FIRE! Katie clearly dominates when it comes to their elements... it is no surprise that Tom gave her everything she asked for in the divorce, and agreed to all her terms.
