Frigga Symbols

Filipina feng shui expert Marites Allen couldn't have chosen a more auspicious day to roll out her latest venture - a new brand of luck-enhancing fashion apparel and accessories called FRIGGA. August 4, 2012 was a suitable day for initiating important events and commencing new business and judging by the turnout of the event, the timing for the launch was impeccable.

While the excitement created by the Olympic Games was raging, the grand Chelsea Old Town Hall on King's Road, the favored site for many talked-about celebrity events in London, had a full-house audience of prominent Filipino professionals in the UK who were treated to a fashion show of Frigga's Premiere Collection of fabulous day and evening wear.

Guests were also entertained by talented UK-based Filipino singers and served special cocktails provided by Bangalore Catering, the food service group behind well-known restaurants such as the Painted Heron, which count the likes of the Duchess of Cambridge and the knighted actor Michael Caine among its patrons.

Popular actress, TV host and beauty queen Ruffa Guttierrez flew in from Manila to cohost the event with Marites. Ms. Gutierrez, herself a firm believer in feng shui, says she uses its principles in deciding what to wear and in choosing her allies. She also consults the Almanac for her contract signing schedules. Also involved in the success of the event were dignitaries from the Philippine Embassy in London, Philip De Veto.

UK's most prominent Filipino stylist to celebrities, Sonny Laragan & Peps Villanueva of Pinoy Radio UK . Ms Rose Eclarinal & Gene Alcantara of ABS CBN News Europe, Ms Roselle Collado and team of the popular UK newspaper Hello Philippines. The event was sponsored by Century Properties Management Company.

Who and what Is FRIGGA?

Frigga is the Norse goddess prophecy and destiny. As a fashion brand, it combines the Nordic ideal of feminine power and the mystique of the ancient practice of feng shui to come up with a unique product line that is classy, chic and auspicious. To Marites, it is the expression of fashion with a purpose: to attract good fortune into our lives through the things we wear. It is as much style for every season as it is for ever reason.

"Just as feng shui is all about manipulating the environment to suit our aspirations, FRIGGA is all about knowing what to wear and why we should wear them. Whether it is dressing up to convince, to attract, or to appear in control, FRIGGA fulfills the need to be stylish and auspicious at the same time," Marites explains.

The Frigga Premiere Collection shows how the combination of colors, fabrication, prints, and overall design can attract positive energies into one's life. The key is focusing on what one wants to achieve. To attract wealth and prosperity luck, clothing embellished with the mystic knot symbol and preferably in the right hues of blue, for example, helps increase income opportunities and enhance personal abundance. Those who are looking for the right partner or who want to maintain harmony in their marital affairs, are advised to wear designs that incorporate the double infinity symbol or the peony to benefit from romantic energies.

Just as there are especially designed pieces to control misfortune and robbery, there are also trendy cuts to boost fame, power and popularity for those who seek them. These are done in exciting fire colors of red and purple and usually feature the ruyi icon. Dressing up for good health and longevity is given a refreshing take through the combination of antahkarana prints done in wood and water colors to signify growth. On the casual side, shirts for both men and women carry individual animal signs or the trinity of friends to attract the helpful energies of astrological allies and friends especially during trying times.

The inspiration for Frigga started almost five years ago when Marites would do her media rounds to promote her annual feng shui event in Manila. "I would be asked for suggestions on what to do, what to eat, and what to wear in preparation for the Chinese New Year," she recalls. She would grace media guestings and related events aptly dressed and accessorized in true feng shui fashion. Sharing her expertise through fashion came naturally. As Frigga's brand ambassador, she leads a full team tasked with churning out classic pieces to help loyal friends and followers in their pursuit of charmed lives.
