The different religions and cultures within his family and background do not constrain him, far from it. For European football addicts, there is no need to introduce Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Having listened to my 24 year old daughter raving on and on about this sexy guy and his tattoos, I finally switched on my feng shui eyes and was quite flabbergasted by what suddenly became obvious. But first let me introduce Ibrahimovic for those of you unfamiliar with the football world.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was born Oct 3rd, 1981 making him a Rooster with Kua number 1. He grew up in Sweden where he started playing football at the age of 6, signing up as a professional with Maimo at age just 15. From there on his career sky-rocketed... Ajax Amsterdam, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, you name them... "Ibra" (short for his nickname "Ibracadabra" the Magician) has played in almost every major club in Europe, leading each one to the top of the league.

Good Luck Charms Tattoos

Recently he has really hit the jackpot! At 31, he has signed up with the prestigious French Club Paris Saint Germain for the never-before-heard-of transfer fee of 148 mil £ (about 175 mil. $). His fixed income amounts to 14.5 mil. £ (17mio. $) a year. But in view of the upcoming tax legislation in France (75% tax for earnings exceeding 1 Mil. £ / year), he has also convinced his employer to pay his taxes as well as his social security, thus securing himself a 70 mil. £ (95 mio. $) income for a 3 year-job.

We know that the Rooster is having a fabulous year in 2012, and that Ibra is a fantastic striker, but this deal is quite extraordinary. But this could seem less surprising if you look at his background, and if you like him believe in the power of symbols. Ibra has a black belt in Taekwondo, a discipline which led him to become familiar with oriental philosophy and symbolism, and his choice of tattoos shows a systematic theme through the years.

Zlatan got his first tattoos on his wrists in 2006 and these have been known since as "the Ibrahimovic code": his father's, brothers' and sons' dates of birth were inked onto his right wrist. His upper arm sports his father's name on the inside (Sefik) and his sons' names added later on the outside (Vincent and Maximilian). All the male members of his family are located on the right side of his body because the men are stronger (yang) and the women are closer to the heart (yin). Hence you can expect the woman on the left side. His mother's and sisters' dates of birth are tattooed on his left wrist, and his mother's name appears on the inside of his left upper arm (Jurka).

In 2007, he added a huge Maori symbol on his right shoulder to protect his family and to ward off evil. This symbol stands preeminently above his family's name written in Arabic, here again on the right arm. The Arabic writing is commonly seen as a discreet allusion to his father's muslim belief, even though Zlatan himself is a Christian. Here comes somebody whose love and respect for his family goes beyond religious beliefs, someone who knows how important family is and who very much honors his parents.

In 2009 came his probably most striking tattoo: a huge red Chinese Dragon crawling down his right oblique. The mighty and majestic dragon bestows the magical energy of this celestial creature, bringing courage, creativity and capabilities that spell success. It also brings powerful yang energy so essential to an athlete. The dragon is also the rooster's secret friend, and the Rooster-born Ibrahimovic is thus borrowing his friend's luck and building on its support and strength. In 2012, he is also effectively tapping into the specific energy of this tattoo.

Lately he has added two poker cards, the ace of hearts and of clubs placed near the dragon as additional good luck charms. The ace stands for 1, Ibrahimovic's Kua number. The club stands for spirituality and the discreet "H" in the central heart stands for his long-time girlfriend and the mother of his children Helena Seger, a beautiful, highly intelligent lady 11 years his senior.

Around late summer/early autumn 2010, a Thai amulet appeared on his right shoulder: the Yant Prajao Khao Nirote (yant of the master) is not commonly seen as a tattoo design but used as a design on religious relics, such as holy cloth hung above doorways of homes. The monk image in the middle has a Buddhas image on the head and is covering all orifices of his body with his six hands. This sacred tattoo represents the avoidance and abstention from Evil, as well as protection against all kinds of injuries, black magic spells and evil influence.

Actually, there is much more meaning to it than outlined here, but it is interesting to note how important protection against all kinds of harm is to its bearer. Ibra very much emphasizes protection because this is the first and main step towards good feng shui, and in fact, he has been spared major injuries through his almost 20-year career! House Feng Shui Rules

TROUBLE IN PARADISE 

In October, I received another SOS call which further confirms Shakespeare's quote, except here it is more a case of trouble suddenly erupting in paradise, where cracks appear, fast and furious in a picture perfect world.

I have noticed that troubles rarely take those who are well protected by surprise ... but for those whose lives are simply so good they never expect anything to go wrong, when things do go wrong, they are left immobilized, frozen into inaction, not really sure what has happened to shake their lives. The call to me was unexpected because it is not my friend who calls but his mother who tells me that she has never felt so alone, so helpless or so vulnerable. I am surprised because the last time I spoke with her was at her youngest son's wedding.

House Feng Shui Rules

This is a matriarch who lives with her three sons in a modern Balinese-style home, complete with granite floors, infinity pools and floor-to-ceiling glass doors. It is a house that commands a sweeping view of the Singapore skyline, very posh and very YIN!! Yes, the house is silent, devoid of color and people. Everyone goes about barefoot.

The rooms are huge, more like public halls than private rooms. Theirs is a multimillion-dollar house which has appreciated in value way beyond anyone's expectations. Its value is not surprising, because it is landed property located in the most expensive of Singapore's residential suburbs.

The family members are kind, generous and god-fearing. Neither the matriarch nor her sons are snobbish in the least. They involve themselves in countless charities, and both the matriarch and her daughters-in-law are active fundraisers. Now a widow, she continues to lead an active social life so they are very much part of the glamorous Tatler crowd. The eldest son, my friend Robert, is single. A devout Buddhist, he has little interest in getting married, as a result of which some speculate he is gay. I personally have no idea whether he is or is not, but our friendship arises from our interest in Tibetan Buddhism. Also we share the same Lama.

But Robert and I rarely see each other, occasionally meeting only when our guru comes to town, which is very rarely - perhaps once a year. I gather he is not interested in feng shui as he is one of the very few people who has never attended any of my Extravaganzas even though he is on my guest list by virtue of our spiritual connection.

The second son, Alex is married to the toast of Singapore society; a beautiful and talented beauty queen, whose father is a renowned surgeon. Alex loves fast cars, drives a Ferrari, is achingly dashing and very well-groomed. By day, he runs his own private equity fund, and by night, he can be seen in the private gaming rooms of the Marina Sands casino when he is not squiring his beautiful wife to some social event.

The youngest son, Phillip is an up-and-coming dress and jewellery designer who runs his own high fashion couture business with his wife, who has been on the Tatler best-dressed list for the past three years. Together, they are part of the young power couples to watch.

Why did Mrs Lee call me? Because her eldest son, my friend Robert, sweet gentle Robert who has never spoken a harsh word in his life, has suddenly left the house after having had a fight with Alex, after slapping Alex's wife and calling her fake and superficial, and after screaming and hurling abuse at his mother. He is like a man possessed she tells me.

Because she has also just discovered that Alex is in debt, having lost several millions at the casino and his beautiful wife has left him. Because Phillip has just told her he and his wife are getting a divorce. "It's cool Mum, he tells her, she's fine with it and I have a new girlfriend..."

Bad feng shui? House too yin? Spirit harm? Jealousy? Tall poppy syndrome? Did someone do black magic on Robert? Otherwise how can he suddenly become such an angry monster? He was always so gentle and kind?
And what about Alex, gambling his fortune away, and Phillip, treating his wife and marriage with such callousness.

Mrs Lee's world has suddenly collapsed around her... There is more.., the infinity pool is leaking, and the large fountain of wealth has started to crumble. The pump that creates the waterfall has also broken down and the water has stopped flowing. The toilet in her bedroom needs to be repaired.

Suddenly she feels old, she tells me... and she has no idea what to do. Like Ella, she too asks me to fly to Singapore to check the feng shui of her house.

But I am unable to do it. October is a busy month for me with so many students coming for my Feng Shui Master Practitioners courses. But I know her house is definitely too yin, thereby attracting wandering spirits in to cause mischief. This is what happens when yin spirit formation develops. They need to bring in more color, more sounds and invite people to their home, instead of going out every night and every lunchtime, leading such busy lives, yet letting their beautiful home feel so unlived-in and unloved. 

And of course, the feng shui of the house is so incredibly flawed. Each time I make a tentative comment, wanting to gently tell them how to modify the many poison arrows and blockages that I feel need to be removed, they dismiss my remarks with a smirk... they simply do not really believe in feng shui...

Once I suggested to Robert that he might want to offer incense regularly to his local spirits. He merely shrugged his shoulders and that was the end of it, even though he knows that our guru is a great believer in offering incense to the local spirit landlords of the home. Indeed, I myself had learn about the power of making incense offerings from our guru.

Now with Robert gone and with the marriage of her two other sons in a mess, what is there to be done? The family is wealthy enough to cover Alex's gambling debts, but unless they modify their feng shui and appease the local landlords of their living space, alas, I envisage more troubles coming their way. Bad House Feng Shui

Consider this call that came to me one night from Indonesia ... from Ella. "... What shall I do, my father has just been arrested ... they came last night, in the middle of our dinner and they took him away in his pajamas ... so sudden. My mother collapsed - I think she had a mild stroke... anyway, she is resting in hospital... and my brother has just had a fight with someone at work. I think something is wrong with the house... can you fly out immediately?"

I did not fly to Surabaya as she wanted me to. I asked some questions instead.

Bad House Feng Shui

She sounded quite hysterical, this call from an old and dear friend, someone from my early writing days. She comes from a wealthy background in Indonesia. Her family owns large mining interests on the island and in recent years, they had diversified into newspapers and book publishing. Her father had been getting increasingly active in politics, aligning himself with the power elite.

I knew they were influential, that her father was close to the Presidential palace, although which President I really did not take the trouble to find out. In any case, here in South East Asia, as with everywhere else in the world, anyone wealthy almost always has some kind of close connection to the political head of the country.

All these years, I had not heard from her, but in October, my friend Ella's world collapsed. She was convinced the arrest had been motivated by politics, jealousy, revenge and partisan power play. Her voice was almost guttural as she described the drama of her father's arrest - apparently for corruption. She was appalled at the way they had arrested him and that caused her to worry for his health and for his safety. He has high blood pressure and is diabetic, she told me over the phone.

She is also worried about her mother who has awakened from her collapse but is looking blank like she has lost her senses ... and then her brother who had always been something of a hot head, had come home all bloody from a fight at work two days ago! Her sister-in-law has gone back to her parents, taking Ella's niece and nephew with her. The family it seems is is a state of disarray. 

But it is her father's arrest that is the main problem which needs settling. I asked her to describe her family home. It is one of those very deep houses so typical of Indonesia's old rich families, where children and grandchildren live with parents and loads of servants, going from one suite of rooms to the next. Some homes have a length of as many as 20 rooms ... but everyone enters and leaves the house through the main front door.

I told her that the problem must be bad luck at the main door, which in a house like hers must never be afflicted. When it is, everyone and especially the patriarch and all the sons of the family are certain to be hit by severe misfortune.

In the case of Ella's family home, the culprit was the number 3 star, which had flown to their front door that faced SW and is located in the SW sector of their very long house! The SW is also afflicted by the number 3 star in the annual chart, so last month, Ella's family was seriously hit by the quarrelsome star, which also brings conflict with authority, court cases, and in its worst case scenario, getting thrown into jail. And as everyone knows the Year of the Dragon, the number 7 star afflicts the Patriarch. So in the same month that they got hit by the 3 star at the front door, her father, the family head. is being hit by the number 7 annual and monthly star as well.

Clearly, Ella needs to paint her main front door red and hang a six rod wind chime near the front of her home as well. At the back of her home in the NW corner, I told her to place another metal wind chime as well as a Dragon water feature. The presence of water will exhaust the harmful 7 in the same way that the Fire element energy of the color red will exhaust the Wood star 3, which was obviously harming her father.

Being desperate, Ella has done what I told her to, and as we go to print. I have just been told her father was released on bail; he is home now but the problem's not over yet. I have also sent her three powerful amulets that should help him should his case go to court, although we are all hoping it will not have to come to that; hopefully they can delay until the New Year, when the luck of the house will improve.

The patriarchal luck in 2013 looks very good for the coming year ... but for now at least, he is being strongly protected by the powerful sacred amulets we have already sent him.
